The helmet we have been waiting for! We saw this for the first time last year and fell in love with it. A seriously cool looking 70's inspired retro full face lid, but with the latest ECE R22:06 certification, ooh I hear you say!
This is one of the first retro style full face helmets to be certified to the new ECE R22:06 standard. Why is that good?
The latest specification for the testing standard includes an increased number off impact tests, mainly to the sides of the helmet and a helmet rotation oblique test, above the R22:05 standard. All designed to help improve helmet safety and ensure if we were to ever have an accident that head and brain injuries are minimised even further. So good stuff! What else is interesting about this lid?..
We love a good question! Besides its awesome looks of course... It comes in two shell sizes, so keeps the profile to a minimum through the size range, even for the smallest of heads. Is made from composite fibreglass. Has a 3mm anti scratch visor that is Pinlock ready, a visor locking block on the chin bar and has an edged lip on the visor that seats around a corresponding rubber seal on the shell, meaning wind and water ingress is kept to a minimum.
Why do we love it?
We love the combination of modern technical features and the stylish retro looks of this helmet, its finish and attention to detail, lightweight at 1.3Kg, oh and the deep chin bar. Because as a beardy the narrow bar on most retro lids has my beard poking out the bottom and flapping in the breeze! Not with this baby..
